How we’ll communicate weather-related closings and delays

With snowy weather in our sights, the Cohoes City School District would like to remind you how a delay or closure will be communicated.

Closings/delays will typically be announced by 6:15 a.m. Using ParentSquare, we will contact you by phone, text and email to notify of any change in the daily school schedule. The message will also be posted on our website and the websites of local media outlets. If a snow day is determined, students and staff will not be expected to report to school (remote or otherwise).

Please remember that neighboring districts have differing needs and challenges, and may make different decisions regarding delays and closings. Whenever our schools are closed for weather-related reasons, all after-school activities will be canceled that evening.

Because the district has a certain number of snow days and contingency days built into the school year schedule, a traditional approach to the use of snow days will be implemented rather than converting them to virtual learning days.

Please make every effort to keep your school’s main office informed of any change to your contact information.

Preparing our students for success in tomorrow’s world.
