Openings

Custodian – Full-Time

Required knowledge, skills and abilities: Good knowledge of building cleaning and grounds maintenance practices, supplies and equipment. Ability to use said supplies and equipment safely, economically and efficiently. Some knowledge of small engine maintenance, plumbing, electricity and carpentry. Ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions. Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position. Snow removal and some grounds work will be required.

Acceptable Experience and Training: One year of experience in building cleaning and maintenance activities or in one of the standard building trades and completion of a standard grade school course; or any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Schedule: 12 month work year (6:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.)

Location: Cohoes High School (Primary) and other locations as needed

Salary: As per the CSEA contract

Appt: The applicant must be reachable on the Civil Service Exam for the title.

Teacher Aide – Full-Time

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Good general intelligence, ability to establish good relationships with children and others, familiarity with classroom routine, background or knowledge in specific field where specialized duties are involved, above average clerical aptitude, resourcefulness in conducting above-described activities indirectly related to teaching process, neat personal appearance, ability to maintain discipline, tact, courtesy, good judgment, physical condition commensurate with the demands and duties of the position.

Acceptable training and experience: Graduation from high school or any equivalent combination of training and experience.

Location: Harmony Hill Elementary School (Behavior Room)

Salary: Per CSEA Contract

Start Date: April 20, 2021
