The Harmony Hill Elementary School community came together to remember and celebrate a truly special member of its school family, Rozie, a beloved therapy dog who passed away last year.
During a special assembly, Mayor William Keeler declared Oct. 30, 2026, as “Rozie Ilean Perry Day” in honor of her birthday and favorite holiday, Halloween.
Keeler presented the official proclamation to Harmony Hill Principal Mark Perry, Rozie’s owner, during a special assembly.
Throughout her time at Harmony Hill, Rozie brought comfort, companionship and endless smiles to students, teachers and staff. Her gentle presence and unconditional love helped foster a warm, welcoming environment at the school every day.
“Rozie touched countless lives and made a difference in the daily experiences of the Harmony Hill community, leaving behind cherished memories,” the proclamation reads.
The declaration recognizes the powerful impact service and therapy animals have on children’s emotional well-being while honoring Rozie’s lasting legacy at Harmony Hill.
