Voters approve budget, 2 members elected

On May 21, Cohoes City School District voters approved a $53.4 million budget for the 2024-25 school year by a vote of 302 to 66, a margin of 82%.

Voters also elected two members to serve on the Cohoes City School District Board of Education: incumbent Richard Jackson will serve his third full term and Renee Snyder will serve her second full term.

“On behalf of the Cohoes City School District, I want to extend my gratitude to our voters for your commitment to the future of our children and their education,” said Superintendent Peggy O’Shea. “Your approval ensures that vital positions and programs will continue to provide a positive educational experience for all our students.”

Tonight’s results are unofficial. Vote totals will be certified on Wednesday.
