On May 19, 2026 Cohoes City School District voters approved a $57 million budget for the 2026-27 school year by a vote of 263 to 56, a margin of 82%.
Residents passed a Capital Reserve Fund Proposition by a vote of 262 to 56 authorizing the creation and funding of a $20 million Capital Reserve Fund for the purpose of financing future capital projects.
Voters elected two members to serve on the Cohoes City School District Board of Education: incumbent David Jarosz will serve his second full term and Mykel Dorsey will serve his first three-year term beginning July 1, 2026.
“I want to express my gratitude to the community for their ongoing support of our schools,” said Superintendent of Schools Peggy O’Shea. “We remain committed to providing high-quality educational programs, opportunities, and resources that prepare every student for success in tomorrow’s world.”
