Congratulations to Cohoes Middle School’s top students of 2026!

Cohoes Middle School Principal Heather Bradt has announced the top students of the Class of 2026. Lauren Farinacci is this year’s valedictorian and Alice Tinkle is salutatorian.

Ms. Bradt said both students have given the school many reasons to celebrate their achievements.

“Watching them push the boundaries of what is possible inside and outside the classroom has been an absolute privilege,” said Ms. Bradt. “As they step into high school, I have no doubt that the standard of excellence they set here is just the beginning of the incredible mark they will leave on the world.”

Lauren Farinacci – Valedictorian

With a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 99.305, Lauren has earned the distinction of being the Class of 2026 valedictorian. She is a member of the National Junior Honor Society, Junior Drama Club and chorus.

“I am honored to have received the title of valedictorian this year. Middle school wasn’t always easy, but I learned that I am capable of much more than I thought I was,” said Lauren. “I am so thankful to my friends and family for helping me when I got stuck and listening to all my rambles. They pushed me to do the best that I could and made this great achievement possible.”

Alice Tinkle – Salutatorian

This year’s salutatorian is Alice Tinkle, with a GPA of 99.279. She is a member of National Junior Honor Society, chorus, band and is on the cheer team.

“I am incredibly honored and grateful to be given the title of salutatorian. This achievement is the result of years of support from all of my friends, family, and teachers,” Alice said. “I am extremely grateful that I am able to leave middle school more knowledgeable and with many lessons that I can take with me throughout the rest of my life. I am also extremely proud of Lauren Farinacci, the valedictorian. This is a huge accomplishment and I am very excited for us both!”
