Good luck to Cohoes High School students Stephanie O’Rourke (Food Prep Basic – Culinary Arts and Hospitality Technology), Mikkail Warner (Game Design and Implementation) and Theadora Avramidis (Job Skill Demo Model, Criminal Justice) who are among 80 Career and Technical Education (CTE) students representing Capital Region BOCES at the annual New York State SkillsUSA competition in Syracuse.
The junior and seniors departed from Albany and Schoharie yesterday to compete in events that showcase their work-related skills. Some are also representing BOCES in state SkillsUSA organization matters, serving in elected posts or helping the competition to run smoothly by serving as security guards and/or photographers.
The competition and conference runs through Friday at the New York State Fairgrounds. Winners of the various competitions will advance to the national SkillsUSA competition in Atlanta in June.
