Director of Facilities III, Full time

A Director of Facilities III is responsible for providing administrative direction to a school district’s buildings and grounds department.

Required experience and training: One of the following:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in School Facilities Management, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Building Construction Technology and 3 years of experience in school facilities maintenance, general building construction, building maintenance or repair work in two or more of the skilled trades*, which included 3 years of supervisory experience; or
  • An Associate’s degree in School Facilities Management, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Building Construction Technology and 5 years of experience in school facilities maintenance, general building construction, building maintenance or repair work in 2 or more of the skilled trades*, which included 3 years of supervisory experience; or
  • High school diploma or possession of high school equivalency diploma and 7 years of experience in school facilities maintenance, general building construction, building maintenance or repair work in more than 1 of the skilled  trades such, which included or was supplemented by 3 years of supervisory experience.

Schedule: 12 month work year

Location: Cohoes City Schools Central Office

Salary: $70,000 – $80,000/year

The applicant must be reachable on the Civil Service Exam for the title.

Part-Time Teacher Aides

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Good general intelligence, ability to establish good relationships with children and others, familiarity with classroom routine, background or knowledge in specific field where specialized duties are involved, above average clerical aptitude, resourcefulness in conducting above-described activities indirectly related to teaching process, neat personal appearance, ability to maintain discipline, tact, courtesy, good judgment, physical condition commensurate with the demands and duties of the position.

High school graduation or equivalency is required.

Substitute Cleaners

Part-time and substitute work for cleaning in school buildings. Complete a non-instructional staff application and submit to Human Resources at the above address. Substitute cleaners make $13.50 an hour and are typically called on an as-needed basis.

Substitute Maintenance Mechanic

Part-time and substitute work for maintenance mechanic in school buildings. Complete a non-instructional staff application and submit to Human Resources at the above address. Substitute maintenance mechanics are typically called on an as-needed basis.

Part-time Teacher Aides

Complete a Non-Instructional Staff Application and the civil service application. Submit them to HR for immediate consideration. Part-time aides are paid $10.50 an hour and work approximately 3.75 hours/day (M-F)
