Voting Information: Qualifications & Registration


Residents of the Cohoes City School District can vote in the Cohoes Board of Education elections and Annual School Budget that takes place on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.

Voter registration requirements are as follows:

  • Registered to vote in the general elections or with the school district
  • A United States citizen
  • Age 18 or older
  • A district resident for at least 30 days

Polling Locations

Depending on where you live, you may vote at one of three locations.

Determine your voting location based on your street.

Absentee Balloting Information

If you are unable to visit an official polling station to cast your ballot you can vote with an absentee ballot.

Completed applications must be received by the district office at least seven business days before the election if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter, or the day before the election if the ballot is to be given to the voter in-person at the district office.

All completed absentee ballots must be delivered to the District Office by 5 p.m. on the day of the budget vote (May 19).

In person registration

In person registration is available at each of our elementary schools from 10am – 2pm on the following days. 

  • April 15, 2026 
  • April 22, 2026 
  • April 29, 2026
