Tech help available for Google Classroom, Chromebooks

Resources are available to families who need assistance with Google Classroom or a district-issued Chromebook.

Google Classroom

Our Instructional Technology Integration Specialist, Jen Sangiacomo, will be available via text and online office hours to assist families with questions about Google Classroom.

Text

This will be available on Tuesday, April 28 and Tuesday, May 5 from 6 to 9 p.m. Text your questions to 518-227-1849 and Ms. Sangiacomo will be ready to respond with helpful texts, video tutorials and screenshots. Please include your name, as well as the names of your child and their teacher.

Please note that this number will only be monitored during the posted dates and times. Messages sent outside of these times will not be answered.

Online Office Hours

Book a time (using your child’s Google account) to meet with Ms. Sangiacomo online.

Appointments are available on Thursday, April 30 and Thursday, May 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

When you sign up for an appointment, an email will be sent to the Google account you signed up from. This email will include a meeting link. At your meeting time, click on the link to join the meeting.

To join from your cell phone, you will need the Meet app. To join from a PC or laptop, the Google Chrome browser is preferred, but you may also join from Firefox or Explorer.

Chromebooks

NERIC has established a help line for families who need assistance with district-issued Chromebooks.

Call: 518-862-5230

Technicians will be available for live phone support Monday through Friday from 8 a.m to 4 p.m. If a technician is unavailable at the time, please leave a message with the following information:

  • Your name and your child’s name
  • Their school and grade level
  • A brief description of the issue

Issues involving non-district devices will be addressed in a “best effort” manner. Technicians will only assist with personal devices during the duration of the closure.

Note: If you are in need of a Chromebook, please contact your school’s principal, not the help line.
