The Cohoes City School Districtwide Safety Plan will be considered by the Board of Education at a public hearing on July 8. The district is accepting public comments on the 2026-27 plan through Aug. 9.
Required by law, the Districtwide Safety Plan helps ensure schools are prepared to prevent or minimize the effects of emergencies and supports coordination with local and county agencies during a crisis. The plan addresses the needs of all district schools and aligns with confidential building-level emergency response plans.

Comments should be sent to District Clerk Ashley Simmons at asimmons@cohoes.org by Aug. 9, 2026.
It is anticipated that the plan will be adopted by the Board of Education at their August meeting.
