Harmony Hill honors our veterans

Veterans Day is an important day to honor our veterans who have served in the military.

This morning, Harmony Hill hosted their Annual Veteran Day Breakfast and Recognition to do just that. Students and over 20 veteran family members enjoyed breakfast and a little bit of socializing before heading to the gymnasium for a recognition assembly.

The Harmony Hill chorus, back after a six-year hiatus, opened the assembly by singing the “Star Spangled Banner,” led by Music Teacher Elira Mavraj.

Following that, Principal Mark Perry called each student and their veteran up to the podium to hear what branch of the military they were in. Students on the Student Leadership Team (SLT) then presented veterans with red and white carnations.

“This celebration is important as it brings the true meaning of Veterans Day home to our Harmony Hill Community,” said Mr. Perry. “We hope that our students begin to realize the important role that their veteran family members played in United States history.”

Thank you to everyone who helped put this wonderful event together, including Mrs. Friedman and Mrs. Overocker who served breakfast!

Preparing our students for success in tomorrow’s world.
