Maggie Gilligan and Rob Santarcangelo at CASDA DinnerMaggie Gilligan, the Class of 2019 valedictorian, was recently honored at the 33rd Annual CASDA Scholars Recognition Dinner. CHS social studies teacher Rob Santarcangelo was her invited guest as “someone who had a profound and positive impact” on her education.

From Mr. Santarcangelo:
“Maggie is an exceptionally gifted student and one with whom I feel fortunate to have taught. She is a kind, intelligent, and hard working student who worked meticulously on each assignment. As teachers we hope to find certain qualities in our students, I can safely say that Maggie encompasses all the positive qualities that we hope our students have. I am honored to have taught Maggie and am proud of her.”

The annual event recognizes high achieving high school seniors from public, private, parochial, and BOCES secondary schools in the Greater Capital Region. It also honors teachers nominated by each student scholar.
