Educators build skills at Staff Development Day

Staff developmentCohoes students may have had the day off on Tuesday, but district educators were working hard to strengthen their skills at Staff Development Day.

The day included collaborative sessions on a range of topics including trauma responsiveness, video editing, tech tools for the classroom, restorative justice, mindfulness, adopting a growth mindset and more.

Teachers also reviewed assessment data and worked with their peers to make sure their curriculum aligns with state standards.

“This is an opportunity for our staff to learn new skills as we look to advance our district priorities and ensure student success,” said Superintendent Jennifer Spring.

The day began with an employee recognition ceremony and also included the annual Election Day raffle, with all proceeds going to Cohoes Holiday Hope.
