COVID protocols to remain in place through end of school year

As you likely heard, Governor Cuomo announced on May 17 that the state has adopted new CDC guidance which eases mask-wearing recommendations for fully-vaccinated individuals. We have received some inquiries about how this affects our schools.

In following CDC guidance, the state is advising that schools continue to implement their COVID-19 prevention strategies for the remainder of the school year. Individuals will be required to wear masks while on school property, regardless of vaccination status. This applies to those at athletic events, end-of-year activities and ceremonies, outside during recess and on the school bus.

Additional protocols remaining in place include social distancing, daily health attestations, and enhanced cleaning in our schools.

We will continue to monitor the latest guidance from state and local health departments and provide updates accordingly. As always, thank you for your continued efforts to keep our school community healthy and safe.

Preparing our students for success in tomorrow’s world.
