On May 20, Cohoes City School District voters approved a $54.9 million budget for the 2025-26 school year by a vote of 398 to 135, a margin of 74.67%. The $2 million Capital Reserve Proposition passed by a vote of 416 to 99, a margin of 80.78%.
Voters also elected three members to serve on the Cohoes City School District Board of Education: incumbents Susan Guzy Paradis and Marianne Gendron will serve their second full terms and Sara Burwell will serve her first term.
“Thank you to the residents of Cohoes for supporting this budget plan,” said Superintendent of Schools Peggy O’Shea. “This budget allows us to continue to support our students and invest in greater safety measures, which is always a top priority.”
