I. The Meeting was called to Order by the President, Mrs. Giller at 6:02pm

II. DISTRICT REPORTS

Becky LaForest, Career Education Coordinator shared information about the upcoming release of “Tiger Tracker”.  This will feature CHS Alumni to showcase their professional accomplishments and share their pathways to success with our current students.  Alumni who are willing may be featured in the Tiger Tracker Spotlight shared on the District’s social media pages.

Mrs. Tarlo, Principal of Cohoes High School and Mr. Jeff Huneau, Athletic Director discussed the upcoming homecoming week, which includes the dance and various sporting events.

Mr. Huneau also discussed Go Fan, a cashless digital ticketing system. He will pilot the program at the football and soccer games. The program has safety and security features used to manage participation numbers.

Ms. O’Shea shared that the district received a NYS Office of Mental Health Support Grant for just over $1 million dollars over five (5) years.  There are certain requirements of this grant, one being the funding of a Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) Director.  Ms. O’Shea will share the draft job description of the Director with the Board at the October 5, 2022 meeting.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Board of Education of the Cohoes City School District appoints Jessica Hoffman to a four-year conditional term in the tenure area of Special Education effective September 1, 2019 and expiring on August 31, 2023 June 2, 2024 June 12, 2024 on an emergency conditional basis.  Ms. Hoffman holds professional certification in the areas of Students with Disabilities Grades 1-6 and Childhood Education Grades 1-6.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT this appointment is made on an emergency conditional basis and subject to of both a statement from Ms. Hoffman regarding criminal conviction(s) or pending criminal charges and the receipt of criminal background clearance from the Commissioner of Education.  Ms. Hoffman’s continued employment is specifically contingent upon the District’s receipt of notice from the Commissioner of Education that she is fully cleared for employment.

K. BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Board of Education of the Cohoes City School District hereby appoints Peter Mahoney to the position of Network Administrator, subject to the rules of the Cohoes Civil Service Commission, such appointment is a provisional appointment.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Board of Education of the Cohoes City School District appoints Kyle McFarland to a four-year probationary term in the tenure area of Secondary Principal effective October 3, 2022 and expiring on October 2, 2026.  Mr. McFarland holds Professional Certification in the areas of School District Leader and School Building Leader, and Permanent Certification in the areas of Biology – General Science 7-12 and Chemistry 7-12.
