Nearly 300 CMS students achieve PBIS incentive

PBIS ice cream socialAlmost 300 Cohoes Middle School students on Friday got a special treat with lunch for reaching the mid-quarter PBIS incentive.

Students who are passing all classes, have at least 95 percent attendance and no referrals received a ticket during first period for an ice cream sundae.

“The kids have been super excited about it,” said PBIS coordinator Melissa Santarcangelo. “They’ve been asking ‘how do we get the tickets’ and ‘when do we get the tickets.'”

Santarcangelo added that she wants to see even more students achieve the incentive goals next time around.

“The cool thing is that, even for the kids who didn’t get it, the next five weeks is a fresh start. There’s always that opportunity to do better,” she said.
