June 6 incident involving substitute HS teacher

On Wednesday afternoon several Cohoes High School students reported that a substitute teacher played a video in class that was inappropriate. The teacher was escorted to the office where he admitted showing the video to two classes. Administrators confirmed that the video was not suitable for an educational setting and immediately dismissed the teacher. The district contracts with Capital Region BOCES to fill substitute positions and they have been made aware of the incident. District leaders continue to look into the matter. We recognize and thank our students for promptly bringing this to the attention of our high school administrators.

Preparing our students for success in tomorrow’s world.
