How effective is hand washing at killing germs? That’s what Ms. Geis’s 4th grade class at Harmony Hill aimed to find out in a recent science experiment!
The students put Glo Germ Gel on their hands to simulate the number of germs we typically encounter. They examined their hands under a black light, followed by a thorough hand washing (singing the birthday song a couple of times). They examined the results under the black light, determining that hand washing is an effective, important way to stay safe from harmful germs!
