Cohoes residents approve 2020-21 budget

By a vote of 1,215 to 516, residents of the Cohoes City School District approved a $43,867,736 budget for the 2020-21 school year. The approved budget maintains spending at its current level and calls for a 2.32 percent tax levy increase, which is within the district’s calculated tax levy “cap.”

Residents also voted to fill two seats on the Cohoes Board of Education. Incumbent Margaret Giller received 1,560 votes and will serve her second full term on the board. Pete Annely received 1,418 votes and will begin serving his first term on the board on July 1.
