CHS dismissed 10 minutes early following “low level” threat

At approximately 2:10 p.m. on Thursday afternoon, Cohoes High School administrators were made aware of a threatening message written on a bathroom wall. In following district protocols, Mrs. Tarlo immediately called Cohoes police and the school was put in a “hold-in-place.”

Police arrived within minutes and began investigating. They determined the message to be a low level threat. As a precaution, police advised that school should be dismissed early. Students and staff were released at about 2:34 p.m., ten minutes before the normal dismissal time.

We routinely practice safety procedures to respond to a variety of emergency situations.

Please take a moment to review the district’s emergency response procedures

We will continue to work closely with Cohoes police to quickly respond to these incidences while keeping our students and staff safe. Please do not hesitate to reach out to Mrs. Tarlo if you have any questions about safety protocols.
