Cohoes students, employees and visitors can remove masks outdoors

Good afternoon,

In light of Governor Cuomo’s announcement Monday that school districts can choose to lift the requirement that their students must wear masks outdoors, the district’s Reopening Committee convened to discuss the next steps.

Beginning Wednesday, June 9, students, employees and visitors will have the option to remove masks while outdoors on Cohoes school grounds. Appropriate social distancing should continue to be observed.

See the latest guidance for schools from the New York State Department of Health.

Guidance on mask use indoors remains in place. We will continue to provide frequent mask breaks, especially during these warmer days. District leaders continue to monitor the latest health department recommendations for any updated information.

Thank you for your ongoing partnership and support.
