Future Ready Pathways program set to recruit new cohort

Cohoes’s Future Ready Pathways program is excited to announce the recruitment of a new cohort of students after the district recently learned that grant funding will be available.

FRP is a collaboration between the district, HVCC and UAlbany that provides year-round career mentoring and academic support to 25 high school students in each grade-level as they pursue a Regents diploma and 60 college credits before graduation. The program is currently in its fourth year, with students earning a total of 2,119 credits.

Thanks to the Smart Transfer Early College High School grant from the New York State Education Department, the classes are offered at no cost to students or their families.

There will be a virtual FRP information session/Q&A at 6pm on Tuesday, May 11, open to interested 8th graders and their families. The event will also be recorded and made available on the district website. An online application for the FRP program will be made available on Wednesday, May 12. Mr. Martinelli will send a link to the information session through ParentSquare to families of 8th grade students.

According to school leaders, FRP students have excelled at college-level work while in high school and are well-positioned to successfully complete a four-year degree, or beyond.

Preparing our students for success in tomorrow’s world.
