Certification: New York State certification as a School District Administrator, (SDA), or School District Leader, (SDL), is required; permanent or professional teacher certification. Master’s Degree in Education Administration, Special Education, or related field from an accredited institution.
Qualifications:
Successful administrative experience, deep understanding of Special Education programing, federal regulations, and state laws. Must have exceptional leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
Schedule:  12-month work year (Central Office Schedule)

Anticipated Job Vacancy 

Title: Senior Account Clerk Typist 
Required knowledge, skills and abilities: Good knowledge of the methods used in keeping financial accounts and  records; good knowledge of office terminology, procedures, routines, and equipment; good knowledge of business  arithmetic and English; ability to type at a reasonable rate of speed; ability to understand and carry out oral and  written directions; ability to get along well with others; clerical aptitude; mental alertness; good judgment; physical  condition commensurate with the demands and duties of the position.  
Examples of Work (Illustrative only):
Computes and types payrolls and payroll summaries;  
Audits payrolls, bills, and vouchers; 
Posts to various accounts and ledgers financial disbursements;  
Balances accounts periodically; 
Prepares and types periodic financial statements for superior and a variety of other financial and statistical reports; Keeps records of financial transactions; 
Performs a variety of related account keeping, typing and clerical tasks; 
Performs incidental telephone work. 
Acceptable Experience and Training:  Open competitive – Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and  three years of experience, which shall have involved typing, and compilation and maintenance of financial  accounts/records; or graduation from a regionally accredited New York State registered college with an Associate’s degree in secretarial  science and one year of clerical experience which shall have involved typing and compilation and maintenance of  financial account/records.

Appointment: Vacancies are filled by a certified list provided by the City of Cohoes Civil Service. Should no certified list be  available, candidates appointed to this position will be serving in a provisional appointment in accordance with New York State  Civil Service Law. The candidate must successfully complete a competitive examination and be eligible for appointment in  accordance with Civil Service Rules for the City of Cohoes Civil Service to obtain a permanent appointment.
