The students wore a special color each day to represent one of the traits of character. Children had the opportunity to receive pink hair extensions or feathers for a $10 donation to Breast Cancer Awareness and Research.
Students also made fall decorations for the Albany Ronald McDonald House, wrote cards to senior citizens and military servicemen and women. They spent time cleaning up around school grounds and made a special treat with the Price Chopper nutritionist, Jodie, who taught students how to prepare a healthy snack.
OTTO visited all of the classrooms to teach students how to cross the street safely, and the Cohoes Fire Department visited to talk to students about fire safety and prevention.
Last but not least, the teachers read books to remind students that their mind is always growing and to never give up!
