75 students entering grades 4 through 8 will be accepted into the three-week long Park Playhouse musical theatre program running July 9 to 27. The program, covering instruction in dance, acting and voice, will meet at Abram Lansing from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and culminate in a showcase presentation on the stage of the Cohoes Music Hall.
24 students entering grades 4 through 8 will be accepted into a song-writing and video presentation program offered by Peak Music, a new business to downtown Cohoes and adjacent to the Music
Hall. The program also runs July 9 to 27, but will be broken up into three one-week groups based on age. Students will spend half-days working in an age-appropriate, welcoming, supportive, fun, and challenging environment designed to promote creativity, a sense of belonging, community pride, and self-discipline. The program will culminate in the screening of a world premiere of a music video featuring a song written and performed by the participating students.
