In-person instruction “opt out” form now available, due Aug. 7

The Cohoes City School District is planning to offer K-12 students a fully virtual option during the 2020-21 school year, which includes synchronous and asynchronous instruction in all core content subject areas. While we are still developing the details, we need to determine which families are choosing to opt out of in-person/onsite learning so we can plan accordingly. Please complete this form by August 7 if you are interested in the fully virtual option:

In-person instruction “opt out” form

Students enrolled in virtual learning are expected to complete all assigned work and assessments. Failure to complete work assigned may result in non-accrual of credit, grade retention, or a recommendation to return to onsite instruction.

By enrolling in this option, you are committing for a minimum of ten weeks of virtual instruction, through November 13, 2020. If you wish for your child to return to in-person/on-site instruction, you must notify your child’s building principal no later than October 30, 2020.

Note: Families must fill out a separate request for each child by 5 p.m. on August 7.

Preparing our students for success in tomorrow’s world.
