Lockdown at Cohoes High School on Tuesday, March 20

At approximately 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, Albany County Sheriff’s dispatch notified administrators at Cohoes High School about a threat made against the school. The school was immediately put in lockdown. Police arrived within minutes, investigated the report, and determined the threat was not credible. The lockdown was lifted at 2:37 p.m. and students were dismissed. A Cohoes High School student was arrested in the incident.

We routinely practice safety procedures to respond to a variety of emergency situations. Our students and staff responded in accordance with all safety protocols.

We continue to work closely with Cohoes police to respond quickly while keeping our students and staff safe.
