The Character Trait of the Month for
July is Citizenship!
Character Education strives to encourage positive
behaviors in students in grades K-12. It promotes traits such as responsibility, caring,
respect, honesty, fairness, trustworthiness and citizenship.
In the Cohoes City School District, students at each of the six
schools participate in Character Education to help develop these
core values.

What is PBIS?
PBIS is a school wide approach to preventing and
responding to school and classroom behavior. PBIS is
used in Cohoes at the district's three elementary schools and the
middle school, as well as at more than 3,000 schools across the
country.
