Former Cohoes football star
inducted into Hall of Fame
John
Bonkoski, a member of the Cohoes High School Football Class of
1999 and the graduating Class of 2000, was inducted into the Cohoes Football Hall of Fame on
Monday, Nov. 19, at the Annual Football Awards Banquet at the
Ukrainian Club in Cohoes.
Throughout John's varsity career he broke and re-established
almost every school offensive record for both a single season
and a career. Many of John's records still rank in the Top 20
Section II All-Time Records.
After
graduating from Cohoes, John went on to play one year of football
at Lambuth University in Jackson, Tenn., where he was named NAIA
Defensive Player of the week after he recorded four
interceptions in a single game.
Former Head Football Coach Larry Connors presented his star
running back and safety with the award.
