One frog, one toad and many happy students
In
the hallway outside Betsy O'Neill's classroom at Abram Lansing
are wanted posters—for frogs, and toads. These posters are just
one of the ways her class prepared to attend the play "A Year
with Frog and Toad," at Proctor's Theatre this past October.
The
play, based on the children's book The Adventures of Frog and
Toad by Arnold Lobel, is a Broadway production that recently
traveled to the Capital Region. O'Neill's class received tickets
from Verizon Wireless and attended for free.
"The kids loved it!" O'Neill said.
To prepare for seeing the play, her class read
the book and wrote about it, and learned about the scientific
differences between a frog and a toad. |
