Helping hands reached out again to Cohoes students as more than 100 backpacks turned up in Cohoes loaded with school supplies courtesy of Albany County District Attorney David Soares and Pastor Charlie Muller. The supplies will be used this year by students throughout the district.
On September 28, DA Soares and Pastor Muller personally delivered hundreds of backpacks to schools throughout Albany County. When their truck pulled up to Cohoes Middle School, which accepted the backpacks, CMS Principal Dan Martinelli and Assistant Principal Deanna Kelly stepped in to help unload the truck. The backpacks will be distributed among the districts five schools. Harmony Hill Principal Mark Perry helped spearhead the donation with Cohoes Housing Authority Executive Director Charlie Patricelli.
The backpack initiative was funded in part through ENOUGH – an
anti-gun violence initiative. Soares and Muller donated a total of
110 backpacks to the Cohoes City School District.
