The first CMS Tiger Awards of the year were handed out last week to Brandon Mason, an eighth grader who won a pass to Regal Cinemas and to sixth grader Emily Monson who was awarded a gift card to Target. The prizes are part of a monthly drawing that encourages students to follow the three Be's: Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible.
The three Be's are the cornerstone of the Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS) program at the middle school. Throughout the school year, students who demonstrate behavior that reflects the three Be's can receive a Tiger award. Tiger awards can be given at anytime to any student who is modeling the three Be's at school. At the end of each month, a random drawing is made from all Tiger tickets handed out that month and prizes are awarded.
Teachers and staff, too, are rewarded for their participation in the PBIS efforts. The adult who wrote Brandon's winning Tiger Award, Ms. Briceland, received a Dunkin Donuts gift card; and Ms. Beaulac, who gave Emily her initial Tiger Award, also received a Dunkin Donuts gift card.
To keep the students' interest, weekly drawings are held for smaller prizes and at the end of each month, winners are chosen for the larger prizes. Congratulations to all students who have earned Tiger Awards!
CONGRATULATIONS to our September winners...
