Oct. 29,
2010 – As part of National Character COUNTS! Week, which was
celebrated in the Cohoes City Schools during the week of Oct. 18-21,
several Cohoes High School varsity football players took time to
read to students at Harmony Hill School and Van Schaick Grade
School.
In the classrooms as the high school students read to small groups, the elementary students were quiet, listening intently, and impressed that these role models would take the time to read to them.
At Van Schaick, the younger students also took a turn reading to the football players.
Coach James Ducharme organized the reading, and said he hopes his team can read to students again in the future.
