Oct. 24, 2010 – During the week of Oct. 18-21 at Cohoes High
School, students and staff made the most out of an important
message: having character is important, and bullying is not.
During National Character Education Week and the district proclaiming October as Anti-Bullying Awareness Month, CHS students participated in a variety of activities to reinforce the message.
"I was very proud of our students, faculty and staff for the amount of effort they put into this week," said CHS Principal Joseph Rajczak. "Their spirit and enthusiasm was evident."
Art students designed a logo, which was worn on t-shirts and displayed around the school throughout the week. Students also participated in drawing chalk art with an anti-bullying theme on Friday, the same day as the poster contest voting took place and the winners were announced. More than 100 students entered posters that depicted their thoughts and feelings about bullying.
