First annual CMS Turkey Trot a success!

20, 2010 - On Tuesday, Nov. 16, Cohoes Middle School students and
staff participated in the first annual CMS Turkey Trot!
The school wide Turkey Trot was the idea of Assistant Principal Kyle McFarland, who coordinated the event with physical education teacher Liz Duma.
Students ran a one-mile course around the outside of the school, with awards going to the male and female winner from each grade level. Student Council donated t-shirts for every participant (custom designed by CHS art teacher Caryn Dollard), and the Army donated water bottles to every participant. Price Chopper donated the first place "trophies" - 15-pound frozen turkeys!
Overall, approximately 50 students and staff participated in the run despite the rainy weather!

First-place winners for eighth-grade: Lamont Lewis/Bruin Smith (tie) and Hailey Castaldo
