Fifth graders "mix it up" at CMS orientation event
Fifth graders from Van Schaick, Abram Lansing and Harmony Hill made a special trip last weekend to Cohoes Middle School for the Fifth Grade Mixer, which is designed to introduce the future classmates and make them feel comfortable in the school where they will spend the next three years learning and expanding their horizons.
With help from members of the National Junior Honor Society and the Youth Advisory Board, students were given tours of the school; were introduced to CMS teachers and administrators; and were encouraged to participate in team-building activities intended to promote friendship and good will among the new classmates.
The Cohoes Kiwanis provided lunch for all who attended the mixer.
