CHS senior named one of Capital Region's top football scholar-athletes

Chris McKayMay 16, 2011 — CHS senior Chris McKay was honored last week as one of the top 10 scholar-athletes participating in the Capital Region's Section II football this year. McKay accepted the award at the 23rd Annual Scholar Athlete Awards Dinner Monday night at the Albany Turf Inn. The dinner was hosted by the Capital Regional Chapter of the National Football Foundation.

In all, 52 Section II football seniors were honored for their accomplishments in the classroom as well as on the football field. Each Section II school had an individual player recognized for their performance. Chris McKay was the recipient from Cohoes High School.

Chris will graduate in June with an overall average of 94.15, ranking 15th in his class. He has played for the Cohoes Football Program for the last four seasons. In his senior year, Chris was was named to the Times Union Second Team Offense, Reinfurt Division First Team Offense and Defense; Section II Senior Exceptional All-Star Game; and to the New York State Scholar Football Team.
