May 2, 2011 — While eyes were trained to other parts of the world,
Cohoes was all about community this past weekend as students,
teachers and staff shared in activities aimed at building character,
refreshing public spaces, and celebrating the late arrival of
spring.

On Thursday, April 28, teachers hosted a rally at Cohoes Middle School in support of the city, the schools and students. Link to Troy Record story>>
Friday, April 29 was Global Youth Service Day - a day of community service in which nearly 325 students and dozens of adult volunteers spent the day making improvements at 27 sites across the city. See media coverage in a link from WTEN here and from the Troy Record here
On Saturday, April 30, Cohoes High School hosted the Cohoes Invitational Relays, one of the region's premier track and field events.
May 1 marked the reopening of the Brookfield Falls View Park, overlooking the majestic Cohoes Falls. Music groups and artwork from district students were featured at the event. See video from the Troy Record of the 2011 Falls View Music and Arts Festival>>
