April 21, 2011 — Information on two, popular summer programs for
high school students is now available. The SEMI High Tech U will
offer students an up close look at high-tech careers during four
days in July. Later in the month, students interested in robotics
can enroll in the Build a Better Robot summer program and spend five
days learning how to build a working robot.
Robots, semiconductors, nanotechnology - mixed with fun: The Capital Region BOCES Career & Technical School (Career & Tech), in partnership with the Tech Valley Career Pathways Consortium, will again offer two very popular Career Pathways summer day-camps for local high school students. The camps are open to young people of all abilities, interests and talents, and scholarships are available to cover camp tuition.

Build a Better Robot
From July 25-29, Career & Tech offers students entering grades 9-12
in fall 2011 our popular Build a Better Robot camp at Union College.
Campers will learn to construct and program in Basic as they take a
box of parts and transform it into a working robot. The camp also

robots developed at Union College. The week culminates in an
exhibition for parents and the public at the Schenectady Museum
where students will showcase their robots.
