Chris McKay, a Senior captain of the football team has been named to the 2010 Scholar All State Football Team. The team was selected by the Coaches of the New York State High School Football Coaches Association. The award symbolizes a true student athlete who has been a significant contributor to his team, while excelling academically and exhibiting good citizenship.
As a senior Chris currently has an overall average of 94.15 and ranks 15th in his senior class. "Chris has been the true example of what encompasses a student athlete at Cohoes High School. Over the past 4 years he has dedicated an immeasurable amount of time to both his academics and athletics and deserves all the accolades that follow," said Varsity Coach James Ducharme.
During the 2010 season, Chris earned the
following recognition: Cohoes High School football team's Most
Valuable Player; Times Union Second Team Offense; Troy Record Second
Team Offense; Reinfurt Division First Team Offense and Defense; and
Section 2 Senior Exceptional All Star. This is the 3rd consecutive
year that the Cohoes football team has been represented on the NYS
Scholar Athlete Football Team. In 2009, Josh LeMay was honored and
in 2008, it was Greg Mollnow.
