Art students honored at regional spring art shows
Several
Cohoes High School students were honored, along with their artwork,
at various art shows in the Capital Region this spring.

The shows included the 2010 High School Regional Juried Art Exhibition at Proctors. Students who had their work exhibited include: Madeline Hughes, Quashanda Barnes, Kelly Cooney and Mandy Gumprecht.
Nick Alesio had worked chosen to be displayed at the 22nd Annual Capital Region BOCES art show, which featured 240 pieces of art from students at 18 area districts.
Jenna Deo was awarded first prize in the twelfth-grade category at an art show at the National Museum of Racing. Her award included a $50 U.S. Savings Bond. Lauren Peters also had art selected for display at the museum.
Finally, several students had work submitted to the White Rose Art Show. The show, a photographic story of Sophie Schroll and the White Rose Resistance, is on display at The Arts Center on the Hudson, 2 North Main St., Mechanicville from May 1-31. It features traveling exhibition from Munich, Germany and Boston College with artwork from children from Saratoga County and around the world.
Students who submitted work include: Neal Cyrus, Adrienne Derosiers, Shannon Garner, Madeline Hughes, Kayla LaFrank, Jacobo Malulan, Ashley Manzer, Megan McCormack, Eli Newsome, Lauren Peters, Vanessa Reamer and Jordan Wood.
