District reorganizes business office
administration
The Cohoes City School District recently
reorganized its business office to fill the vacancy left when
former Assistant Superintendent for Business & Operations Robert
Libby was appointed superintendent of schools.
Current District Treasurer Adam J. Hotaling's
job has been expanded to include many of the responsibilities of
the assistant superintendent for business and operations
position, including budget preparation and oversight, personnel
management and capital project development. Hotaling, whose
appointment was effective July 1, will oversee the business
office in lieu of an assistant superintendent of business &
operations. His salary will be $66,000.
"I am looking forward to serving the students
and staff of the Cohoes City School District in my new role,"
Hotaling said. "As the current building projects unfold and we
continue moving into the 21st century, I am thrilled at the
opportunity to help guide our schools forward."
Hotaling will supervise someone in the newly
created position of "deputy treasurer," who will be responsible
for accounting as well as oversight of accounts
payable/receivable and payroll. The district intends to hire an
interim to fill this position while it searches for a permanent
employee.
"We anticipate that having Mr. Hotaling serve as
district treasurer, overseeing the business office, and a new
deputy treasurer, will enable us to fully staff the department
once again, and help things run smoothly," said Superintendent
of Schools Robert K. Libby.
