District reveals new PBIS logo
Members
of the Cohoes community will likely see a new logo popping up
the schools and in the windows of area businesses.
The new blue and gold logo, created for the district's Positive
Behavioral Interventions and Support program (PBIS),
incorporates the program's message, "Respect, Responsibility and
Safety," a motto students in the elementary and middle schools
are taught to abide by. The program is being developed in Cohoes
High School for freshman.
"We're excited to share with the community this new logo," said
Superintendent Robert Libby. "Seeing it displayed around the
city will hopefully be a reminder that many areas of our
community are instrumental in our children's success."
Not only will the logo displayed in the schools, but local
businesses are supporting the schools' program as well. Several
businesses have decals in their windows displaying the logo, and
are also posting the Character Traits of the Month as well.
The goal of the PBIS program, along with the Character Education
program, is to promote good behavior and character in the
students of Cohoes.
