Digital artist visits Abram Lansing

Although Jonathan Backer's artwork appears to be painted, his secret is the use of computers and digital imaging to create paintings.

Backer's work is hanging in the Principal's Art Gallery at Abram Lansing.

Students who were lucky enough to work with Backer, worked in pairs on laptops with the program Art Rage 2.5, which gave them the chance to create and erase on a digital canvas. He showed them how to imitate everything from different brush strokes to the color palate.
