Sidewalk art contest supports juvenile diabetes
Early
on the morning of Wednesday, Sept. 12, students, teachers and
supporters gathered at Van Schaick Grade School for a sidewalk
art contest and fund-raiser for juvenile diabetes.
The contest, sponsored by Cohoes Kids for a Cure, was open to
students in all of the Cohoes schools. In the competition,
students drew chalk drawings on the sidewalk that reflected the
"Character Counts in Cohoes" message.
The
first and second place winners were students from Cohoes Middle
School. Third place went to a group from Cohoes High School. The
winners were given
$20
Target gift cards.
In addition to the contest, the Paul Vandenburgh Show, which
airs on WROW 810 AM broadcasted from Van Schaick Grade School
during the contest.
