D.J. the deejay brings
music, fun and important lessons to CMS
On Thursday, Oct. 25, KissFM broadcasted from
the Cohoes Middle School cafeteria. Not only was the radio
station broadcasting tunes the students enjoyed, they were
broadcasting a message about the dangers of smoking.
KissFM deejay "D.J." wandered through the crowd of students,
posing for photos and asking trivia questions to students about
smoking and giving them prizes.
For example, students learned how long it takes a cigarette butt
to decompose, how long the toxins from cigarettes stay in your
body and the fact that tobacco use is the number one preventable
cause of death, killing more than 400,000 people each year. |
