All about pi

On Friday, March 14, students at Cohoes High School had their fill of pie. While some of it was in the form of apple and cherry, the rest of the day’s activities centered on the mathematical constant, "pi."

Pi, 3.14159… represents the ratio of any circle's circumference to its diameter and can be used to calculate a circle's area as well. On March 14, or 3-14, math enthusiasts all over the country celebrate the number.

At CHS, students ate apple pie and cherry pie, had a pi memorization contest and a pi t-shirt contest.

One student memorized pi up to more than 100 digits!
