Nick Scott becomes first CHS wrestler to place in state tournament

March 3, 2014 -- Nick Scott is only the third Cohoes wrestler in the last five years to compete in a New York State Wrestling Tournament. As an at-large qualifier, he was one of nearly 500 athletes from all sections of the state who worked to champion one of the 15 weight classes in the large and small school divisions. Scott won three close bouts to earn a spot as a finalist in the tournament, held at Times Union Center over the weekend. He finished as the state runner-up in his weight class, to become the first wrestling athlete from CHS to ever place in the tournament. Congratulations to Nick for this remarkable athletic achievement.  View photos>>

Alma Mater

On the banks of the Mohawk River
With its hills of blue
Stands our honored Cohoes High School
A stirring sight to view

Then hail to Cohoes High School
Whose blue and gold is our rule
We gain strength from thee O Alma Mater
Praise and hail Cohoes

We will treasure Alma Mater
And we now declare
Our loyalty and affection
As our voices fill the air
Then hail to Cohoes High School
Whose blue and gold is our rule
We gain strength from thee O Alma Mater
Praise and hail Cohoes

Loyal hearts beat proudly
And our pulses thrill
At the thought of that honored building
That stands upon the hill

Then hail to Cohoes High School
Whose blue and gold is our rule
We gain strength from thee O Alma Mater
Praise and hail Cohoes
